BMW Breaks New iPhones
While Apple promises to fix the overheating problem of the new iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max, without reducing performance, another problem has emerged with the company’s new products. It turned out that BMW cars can actually break smartphones.
Messages about this began to be published a few days ago by users who encountered this problem. According to them, the NFC chip simply stops functioning after charging the smartphone using the car’s wireless charging pad. It is noted that during the charging process, the device goes into data recovery mode, and after a reboot, the NFC chip stops working. When this happens, the message “Failed to set up Apple Pay” appears in the Wallet app.
In the iPhone 15, the NFC chip enables various functions, including contactless payments and the ability to use the smartphone as a digital car key. Some users of new iPhones who encountered a problem have already contacted Apple service centers. After confirming the failure of the NFC chip, the devices were replaced. However, this does not solve the problem as a whole, since the new iPhone may also fail if the user tries to charge it using wireless charging in the BMW.

In some cases, owners have already replaced their smartphones at Apple stores, but it is not yet clear what the cause of this problem is. So far, complaints have only come from owners of older new Apple products, which suggests that the problem may be related to overheating.
