Apple to Release iPhone SE 4 with Own 5G Modem in March 2025
Barclays analyst Tom O’Malley and his colleagues recently visited Asia to meet with various electronics manufacturers and their suppliers. During the trip, they were “able to confirm” that the iPhone SE 4 is scheduled to launch by the end of the first quarter of 2025, or in March. They are also confident that the smartphone will receive Apple’s own 5G modem for the first time.
From recent statements by the head of Qualcomm, it becomes clear that this company will supply Apple with its modems until the end of 2026, so equipping the fourth-generation iPhone SE with a modem of its own design is an opportunity for the Cupertino company to test the operation of this component on a small category of devices. It can then apply the findings and experience obtained during the transition of other iPhone models to modems of its own design.
The iPhone SE 3 was unveiled in March 2022. It still sells for $429 and is the only iPhone with a Home button. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to change the design of budget devices and become more iPhone-like
