Samsung’s Flex Hybrid OLED Mobile Display Prototype Can Extend and Fold
Samsung Display has announced a product called Flex Hybrid OLED. This is a panel that can fold and slide and will be implemented in future smartphones, tablets and laptops. The panel unfolds on one side and slides out to accommodate a large 10.5-inch 4:3 display and an even larger 12.4-inch 16:10 panel to fit into the size of a regular smartphone.
The Flex Slidable Solo and Flex Slidable Duet designs can be pulled from one or both sides to expand a 14″ OLED screen to a 17.3″ screen.
The Flex Hybrid OLED will be on display in Las Vegas at the CES 2023 Consumer Electronics Show starting January 4th. Samsung Display says the new display is designed for smartphones (probably in the Galaxy Fold form factor), tablets and laptops.
