LG Launches Art Lab NFT Platform For Smart TVs
LG Electronics, a television company based in Seoul, has launched a new NFT platform using the Hedera blockchain.
The company’s platform is called LG Art Lab. According to announcement, this will give customers the ability to buy, sell and display digital art in NFT form on their TVs.
The LG Art Lab platform is currently only available to US residents on LG TVs running webOS 5.0 or later. The marketplace allows not only to buy and sell NFTs, but also to open artist profiles, learn about future coin releases, and participate in Airdrops.
“While many people have heard of NFTs and would like to participate in the growing ecosystem, it can be overly complex and difficult to get started,” Jo said. “LG Art Lab is designed to allow millions of users in the U.S. to easily access and display NFTs, without having to interact with code or directly with a blockchain themselves.”
It is reported that the new platform operates on the Hedera blockchain. The choice of Hedera is due to the fact that LG Electronics has been a member of the blockchain governance council since 2020.
