Europe To Launch Ariane 6 Rocket For The First Time

The European Space Agency (ESA) is preparing for the long-awaited debut of its new Ariane 6 heavy-lift launch vehicle.

The Ariane 6 features many new features, including more powerful engines, greater payload capacity and an improved control system. The rocket is also greener than its predecessor, thanks to a new upper stage that will burn up in Earth’s atmosphere rather than become space debris.

Tomorrow the carrier is due to launch into outer space from the spaceport in French Guiana, and this will be the first European rocket launched in the last year. “Obviously, we have to complete the task. We must restore autonomous access to space for Europe,” Arianespace CEO Stephane Israel said in a recent interview.

The launch of Ariane 6 will be a major milestone for the European space program. A successful debut will demonstrate the capabilities of the new rocket and usher in a new era of space access for Europe.
