Blade Runner 1997 Remaster Release Date Is Announced
The Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition Steam page has revealed a release date for the re-release. The game will be released on PC on June 23rd.
Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition is an improved version of the classic 1997 adventure game Blade Runner. The game received a graphics upgrade, updated character models, and gamepad support.
Blade Runner is set in the world of Ridley Scott’s 1982 Blade Runner. As Detective Ray McCoy, players must venture into the dark, rainy streets of retro-futuristic 2019 Los Angeles to capture replicants (androids).
The limitations of 25 years ago are still noticeable. It would not be handled as elegantly as modern games, and Westwood’s budget limited it to only a few voices from the film’s cast and recreated music from Vangelis’ score. But this remains the closest thing to taking Deckard’s place in the game while still retaining the feel of the 1982 film.
