Apple Music Users Complain About Data Loss
Apple Music users are taking to Reddit to complain about an apparent data breach that is causing other people’s playlists to appear in their libraries. The issue also affects existing playlists where random songs are added or removed.
In Apple Music, users began to encounter strange playlists that they did not create themselves. In some cases, other people’s playlists are combined with existing ones, but mostly appear separately. Also, some users thought that their accounts were hacked and someone else was using them.
The error is caused by an iCloud sync failure and only affects the iOS version of Apple Music. In some cases, manual synchronization of cloud storage helps. It is also assumed that the error is related to the iOS 16.3.1 update.
One possible fix described by Apple Music users on Reddit is to reset the sync status between iCloud and Apple Music. You can do this by going to the Settings app on your iPhone, tapping your Apple ID at the top, selecting iCloud, and then tapping Show All. Here you should see a list of different apps using iCloud on your device. Find “Apple Music” and turn iCloud sync off and on again.
