AI Bot Grok Now Available for Free to X Users
Social network X (formerly Twitter) has opened free access to its proprietary chatbot Grok AI for all users. Previously, the AI was only available to Premium subscribers at a price of $8 per month.
Grok is different from other chatbots in that it has more sarcastic, uninhibited, and even frivolous responses. The developers themselves describe it as follows: “Grok is an artificial intelligence modeled after the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, designed to answer almost anything and, what’s more difficult, even suggest what questions to ask! Grok is designed to answer questions wittily and has a rebellious streak, so please don’t use it if you hate humor.”
Grok AI can be accessed from the X interface. The bot tab is in the left block under messages. The free version of the chatbot is being rolled out gradually and may take several weeks.
Grok currently has fewer users than leading chatbots like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini, but making it free will allow it to compete with them and other free AI chatbots.
