Chinese Android Robot Mastered The Steps

The Chinese company LimX Dynamics for the first time demonstrated the process of testing its humanoid robot CL-1, which is capable of not only walking, navigating the terrain in real time, but also performing more complex dynamic tasks, such as climbing stairs. The robot can also climb down slopes and move indoors and outdoors.

The robot is not only programmed to move its legs in a certain way, it adapts its gait to the obstacle that stands in its way in order to overcome it without losing balance and falling. As New Atlas reports, tests conducted last month—both in the lab and in the field—showed that the CL-1 is able to effectively climb and descend ramps, steps and curbs.

The company has not yet disclosed technical details, but said that the robot mastered ascent and descent through a combination of sensors, a terrain perception system and motion control algorithms. Plus quite powerful solenoids in the joints and other hardware necessary for the robot.

It should be noted that LimX Dynamics does not tailor different algorithms for specific functions, shapes, application scenarios or varieties of robots. In turn, LimX Dynamics focuses on developing motion control algorithms, using AI to create a universal mobile manipulation platform.
