Microsoft Launched The Seeing AI Android App

Back in July 2017, Microsoft launched the Seeing AI app for people who use iOS devices. It was designed to help people who are blind or have low vision recognize their surroundings by scanning objects with the iPhone’s camera. Now the company has officially announced that the Seeing AI version for Android has become available and can be downloaded from the Google Play store.
The Android application, Microsoft said, has the same set of functions as the iOS version. Considering that more than 3 billion people use Android devices today, it can improve the quality of life for so many. The most important innovation of the application is the “More” button: by default, it offers a brief description of what is in the camera’s field of view, but if desired, the description can be expanded. The user can swipe the screen and Seeing AI will tell you the location of various objects. Importing pictures from other applications is supported.
Another new feature is the ability to ask questions about scanned documents. You can get detailed information about menu items or check the prices of items in the receipt individually. Audio instructions are also available when scanning printed materials.
Seeing AI for Android and iOS is available for use in 18 languages: English, Hungarian, Dutch, Greek, Danish, Spanish, Italian, Korean, German, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Finnish, French, Czech, Swedish, Japanese .
