Overwatch 2 Servers Are Under DDoS Attack

Attackers prevent Blizzard from launching another game. The company claims that it is already working to eliminate the consequences of the attack.

Overwatch 2 servers were subjected to a massive DDoS attack, after which they successfully crashed. This was announced by Blizzard President Mike Ybarra.

Overwatch 2 is a multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed by Blizzard Entertainment. Its launch took place on October 4th.

Blizzard president Mike Ybarra first tweeted that the game’s servers were being attacked, causing connectivity issues. According to him, the company’s team fought off the attack.

The servers of the original Overwatch went down shortly after its sequel launched, so fans have no choice but to wait for Blizzard to fix the issue before they can play again.

In addition to repelling a DDoS attack, Blizzard will also have to fix quite a few bugs that were discovered at launch. Among them are missing items and currency from players, sections not being completed, some areas being unavailable, a black screen and SMS from Blizzard, due to which the client becomes unusable.

Overwatch 2 director Aaron Keller said that Blizzard is currently reflecting the second DDoS attack and is working to stabilize the servers.
