Google Play Will Get A New Logo For Its 10th Anniversary

The Google Play Store, which replaced the Android Market, is celebrating its 10th anniversary. On this occasion, Google has changed the store logo and increased the number of reward points as a reward for purchases.

Google has slightly changed the overall shape of its Google Play logo, but the most noticeable changes are the less vibrant colors that are more in line with the greens, yellows, blues and reds that Google uses for many of its other services. It’s a tweak that also complements the new Chrome logo updated earlier this year.

“We’re introducing a new logo that better captures the magic of Google and aligns with the branding of many of our useful products — Search, Assistant, Photos, Gmail and more,” explains Tian Lim, Vice President of Google Play. The new logo and iconography also marks the 10th anniversary of Google Play after it was renamed from Android Market in 2012.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Google Play, Google is also offering to increase the number of Google Play Points.

If you activate the points bonus, you will earn 10x points on purchases, including most in-app items.
